Another quote from Hofmann that fits this work well is "We are limited, not by our abilities, but by our vision”. Both in what we see and what we wish to portray, this piece of work shows that a world has been created or expressed by ultimately to an extent. The ability to create such warped piece is clearly visible. At the same time, it may have been that only so much of that world was able to be seen and translated to the work.
In regards to my personal work, the first quote I mentioned, "A work of art is a world in itself reflecting senses and emotions of the artist's world." goes well with my Times Square influenced drawing. At the time that I created the piece it reflected my personal feelings. The lighting in the work portrayed how I believed that there is light and dark in everything but ultimately reflected how I see the light in things, or how optimistic I am.
