Cezanne Quotes

Quote #1:

Time and reflection... modify, little by little, our vision, and at last comprehension comes to us.

This quote can be incorporated into a drawing in several ways. My approach first would be drawing numerous clocks with different times on them. Accompanying these clocks would either be some figure or form altering over time until it reaches a "final" transformation or stage. The form can easily be myself, in which each "form" of me is me at a different age. The last form, however, will be a partially blackened out figure indicating that I have not reach that vision of myself but I can at least see it.

Quote #2:

I wish to die painting.

For this drawing, I would draw a several elderly people, each doing some form of activity. One may be knitting. A second one could be writing. A third could be playing a board game with family members. Each person would be elderly to indicate they have been doing that activity for years and have lived their life as well. The background could be of a hospital room. However, that may be too depressing.

Quote #3:

Get to the heart of what is before you and continue to express yourself as logically as possible.

A drawing of a someone traveling to the center of a maze would portray this quote well. The catch to this is as the person is traveling towards the "heart" of this maze, the maze is forming in front of the traveler. Behind the traveler would be a complex maze. In front of that traveler will be a less complex path that has a less stressful route to the center of what the person is traveling.
